3-ANTS(A REVIEW)
3ants(Engage, Enable, Enrich) , is a Personalized Multimedia Tool. It was used to tag and share information on LTE(Long Term Evolution) technology for Mobile and Satellite Communications assignment. On a scale of 1 to 10, i would give it a rating of only 4. There are a few reasons as to why i choose to rate it as such.
Firstly, whenever we log in to the site, we were always prompted to update our individual information. This should not happen as we, the users should be given the choice to update our personal information as and when we feel it to be necessary. Secondly, the tagging and sharing functions too faced problems. Whenever i used to tag or share information, webs or videos for sharing, these information did not appear on my tagging history. As a result, i had to re-tag all the information which i had tagged earlier for it to appear on my tagging history. However, it must be said that this problem has appeared to be resolved very recently as i was able to view my tagging history without problems.
Thirdly, the overall interface of this software is not very attractive to the user. Interfaces play a very important part in the attractiveness of Personalized Multimedia tools.Fourthly, and finally, there are some weaknesses with the Content Explorer. It recommends articles and tagged information based on the options we select. Quality and complexity of the information may vary for different users. Therefore , the method to suggest information based on the ratings of other people has its weaknesses.
Nevertheless, this PMT has room for further improvement and i believe that will be the case as it is just in its infancy. Problems encountered such as tagging history disappearance were rectified, so i reckon that improvements will be made for other aspects so that this site may become a major PMT for the sharing and tagging of information and technology.

Africa: 3G, 4G and The speed of Evolution
Africa is about to venture into the world of 4G with companies ready to provide LTE networks and services. However what is disappointing is the fact that regulators are taking longer periods of time to approve licences for spectrums. This is a stumbling block in the quick implementation of LTE in Africa, a continent yearning to be connected with the rest of the world. However, the article also mentions interesting measures taken by companies to cut roll-out costs by using existing 2G and 3G base stations to accommodate 4G capabilities. All in all, nothing much about the revolution of communication in this article, just pointing the lack of pace in implementing 4G technology by regulators.
